Our History

Broken Arrow Seniors was organized by a City of Broken Arrow task force in response to a community need for a multi-purpose senior center, and began serving area seniors in June, 1988. As a result of the enthusiastic response from local seniors, the City of Broken Arrow was determined to find a facility that met their needs.

In July 1991, the City of Broken Arrow purchased Arrow Heights Baptist Church, a 25,600 square foot facility, located at 1800 S. Main Street. Extensive renovations took place over the next two years and Broken Arrow Seniors moved into the new location in July 1993.

In July 1994, Broken Arrow Seniors merged with the Chow and Chatter Club, a nutrition program for local seniors, and began offering transportation services for members.

October 2022 was an exciting year as Broken Arrow Seniors opened an expansion annex to accommodate our ever-growing membership. Located at 1811 S. Main Street, the $3.8 million facility was paid for by voter-approved 2018 Build our Future BA General Obligation Funds. This 12,400 sq ft facility is directly across the street from the Main Senior Center.

Today, Broken Arrow Seniors provides a wide variety of programs and activities at 2 sites, to meet the physical, social, recreational, and nutritional needs of area seniors.
